Pro tip Staying tied: Running prevent shoe laces coming undone 5

Here’s a quick little tidbit that I just came across. One of the most annoying, and irritating things about running (particularly in races) is when your laces come undone. No matter how many knots double, triple, some laces (I’m talking about you Suacony Kinvera) just seem to yearn to beak free and get loose at the most inopportune time.  Of course you can replace them quick laces or some other aftermarket variant , but here’s a great tip that will work on any laces and keep things tied down.

The tip is simple: Most untied laces are usually the result of lose knots or lace material that “slips” from the knot due to all the pounding the shoe gets during the run. Most time it’s the laces bouncing around that loosens the knot, slowly causing it to “slip out”. So a  simple and elegant solution is to tuck the extra long part of the tied laces underneath the front laces on the shoe.

This way even if the knot does come loose, the front part of the laces are nestled in and will stay put. I have been doing this for the last 6 months and no more untied laces on runs! yeah, simple and effective.

That’s a pretty good tip, you can also use quick laces.

I just triple knot them and that seems to work pretty well.

It’s appropriate time to make a few plans for the long run and it’s time to be happy.
