Updated: Released 12/27/2013
So I finally unwrapped my Nexus 5 Christmas gift, and have been playing with it for the last few days. So far it’s everything I expected, no surprises Battery life seems decent, build quality is pretty good, and screen display is amazing. The camera which I was looking forward to, did not disappoint, especially since google fixed and updated the camera software in it’s latest 4.4.2 KitKat. While the camera hardware performs well, the stock Google camera is still a bit spartan , and could use some enhancements. So far the phone works like a champ and Im looking to keep this guy for a bit.

I’m a big Android / Google smartphone guy and I’m eagerly awaiting the release of the next pure Android Google Phone the Nexus 5. I think Android devices are head and shoulders above the iPhone in a bunch of ways. While we have to give Apple credit for creating the modern smartphone space, even their latest products like the iPhone 5s looks dated (particularly IOS7 – the phones operating system) when you compare them to the hardware capabilities and features set of modern Android phones (NFC, larger screens, Google Wallet, better cameras, many OS advantages).
Nexus 4
I have had the Nexus 4 (manufactured by LG))since February, although the phone has been out since last October. Its a pretty decent smartphone, the best feature is that its a pure Google Android experience, no carrier or manufacture extras bloatware all over the phone, and it always runs the latest Android OS releases as of this posting that’s 4.3.3 Jelly Bean. Its a pretty nice phone with a 4.7″ IPS screen high-density screen, snap-dragon processor and NFC. Its not perfect, the camera is pretty weak, and there is no removable battery or extra storage like an SD card slot..
Nexus 5
The much anticipated Nexus 5 is set to be released by Nov.1 . The Nexus 5 will also be made by LG, and will share many similarities to LG current flagship Android smart Phone the LG G2 .My biggest expectation for this new phone is a better performing camera.
